The World’s 50 Best restaurants has confirmed that the 2017 annual awards ceremony will take place in Melbourne. On April 4, 2017, Australia’s coffee capital will see the best in the restaurant industry gather for the 2017 list to be announced.

The annual list, which has been around since 2002, began as a feature in Restaurant Magazine before later becoming independent of the magazine. Each year, culinary talents from around the world are summoned to attend the ceremony. There is also a spin-off 50 Best List for Asia and Latin America.

The 2016 list included Amber at the Landmark Mandarin Oriental, which placed 20th and was the only restaurant from Hong Kong to make the top 50.

In the Asia edition, Amber ranked 4th, followed by Lung King Heen at no.10, 8 1/2 Otto e Mezzo Bombana at no.13, The Chairman at no.27, Tenku Ryugin at no.33, Fook Lam Moon at no.34, L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon at no.40, and Bo Innovation at no.41.
