Easter is coming! While we love hot cross buns all year round, the festive season is the perfect time to enjoy it with family. The spiced sweet bun is traditionally eaten on Good Friday. So, here are the best places (online and in-person) to get your soft, dense bun this year in Hong Kong.
Feeling like something fancier this year? The Mandarin Cake Shop is offering a variety of Easter treats, including the classic hot cross bun. It’s HK$38 per piece and you can order your stash via the hotel’s online form. Delivery is available between March 25 and April 24, 2022.

Another luxury hotel serving the toasty buns is Four Seasons. You order it online through the website (HK$35 per piece) and pick it up at the property’s pop-up pastry shop or in the lobby. 24 hours ordering in advance is required.

This grocer has begun its Easter special offering from today until April 19, 2022. You can order the fresh buns in one piece, four pieces or six pieces – we recommend the latter of course. Tuck into the traditional bites over the holidays but order them quickly, since they sold out last year. There’s a free delivery option if you buy over HK$600 worth of groceries. It adds up quickly if you sift through the different sections on the website.

Th hot cross buns at The Baker & The Bottleman use rich brioche dough with cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves, before it’s packed full of rum raisins. You can order this 15-pack from today until April 18. But remember it’s pick-up only, where we are tempted to order more of their delicious pastries upon arrival.

Since this is a brunch favorite, we are so happy to hear that Bakehouse is serving hot cross buns this year. Chef Grégoire Michaud’s bakery is serving the mouth-watering goods from now until April 18. We advise heading there fast, since they also sell out fast.
