Even in times of COVID-19, Hong Kong can’t resist gathering and drinking on the hills of Peel Street — and that’s largely thanks to The Shady Acres, which opened to great acclaim in 2019 and continues to draw huge crowds.

This indie wine bar and restaurant boasts over 200 varieties of wine, and the kind of moreish sharing plates that really hit the spot after a long drinking session (which took place while you were outside waiting for a table).

The Impossible Burger is a firm favorite, as is the open Wagyu bavette sandwich with carrot chimichurri. On a Friday night, it’s worth coming here for the vibe alone (just remember to wear your mask).
