Some days, we can’t help but crave a good ol’ burger. Or maybe it’s pizza that’s your guilty pleasure calling. Or a chocolate-smothered milkshake. Either way, we’re all too familiar with the pleasures of indulgent eats, regardless of the calories and counting. Treat yourself on cheat day at these delicious joints across Hong Kong…they’re worth it!
CARBS
Newly-opened CARBS is the second F&B venture by Wil Fang of Cookie DPT. The pizza specialists offer everything you need for an all-American night out. Choose from its selection of Detroit-inspired pizzas and don’t forget to add on the mac n’ cheese balls for a delightful pairing. Thirsty? Try the refreshing lemonade, or the heavier milkshakes, depending on your appetite.
45 Pottinger Street Shop 3, G/F, High Block, H Code, Central, 2886-2801. Open every day, times vary.
No Milkshake No Life
Milkshake lovers – this one’s for you. The bolthole cafè sits in Sai Ying Pun and feeds an American feast for hungry bellies. Aptly named No Milkshake No Life, it specializes in what you’d expect – the thick, sugary goodness. For food, try the grilled cheese sandwiches, burgers and hearty grubs.
G/F, Shop A, Graceful Court, 31-37 Hill Road, Sai Ying Pun, 6471-3339. Open every day 10:00am to 6:00pm.
Big Birdy
Fried chicken enthusiasts flock to Big Birdy, the connoisseur in all things chicken. Its menu is a heavenly display of burgers, Peri Peri chicken, fried chicken on waffles and more. There are two locations to choose from, so get clucking and bring your friends and family for a weekend treat. It’s the perfect neighborhood joint for all your guilty pleasure delights.
G/F, Hang Sing Mansion, Shop 11, 48-78 High Street, Sai Ying Pun, 2360-0968. Open every day 11:30am to 11:00pm. Second location in Wan Chai.
Burger Circus
Resembling a classic American diner, Burger Circus serves authentic freshly ground burgers, fries and house milkshakes for the ultimate indulgent meal. Don’t forget to try the pie of the month – we hear the sticky toffee pie this month is an absolute must.
22 Hollywood Road, Central, 2878-7787. Open every day, times vary.
Smoke & Barrel
This popular smokehouse takes Texan barbecue to new highs with its glorious menu of meats and whiskies – the best type of pairing. Smoke & Barrel is the only place in Hong Kong to have its own wood-fired smoker (AKA ‘The Beast’), which rubs, smokes and handcrafts its delectable selection of meats. Expect top-notch dishes that are set to impress from the get-go.
1/F-2/F, Wyndham Mansion, 32 Wyndham Street, Central, 2866-2120. Open every day, times vary.
Shake Shack
A classic and arguably the best burger in town, Shake Shack is a go-to for not-so-healthy dining. Hailing from New York, this joint offers cheesy, fresh beef and chicken (and vegetarian) burgers that taste as good as they look. We’re also loving the cheesy fries which, in our humble opinion, are essential with every order.
Several locations across Hong Kong.
