We’re not questioning, dear reader, if you are already an expert in WFH cafes in Hong Kong – especially neighborhood ones. It’s been over two long years and remote working has become a norm, so it’s no surprise that we’ve rediscovered local gems, while some new ones have opened up. In case you’re looking for something with an al-fresco vibe to enjoy the summer air, here are some more WFH cafes to add to your work location roster.

* Note: Some cafe opening hours may not be up-to-date during Covid restrictions. Please check with the restaurant if any confusion.

Clean

What makes Clean unique is its laundry-meets-coffee concept. Founded by a brother-sister duo, this pretty-in-pink sustainable cafe in Sheung Wan focuses on hand-drip coffee. You can work inside or outside; either way, it’s a cozy spot to complete work tasks.

100 Queen’s Road West, Sheung Wan. Open every day, 8:00am to 5:00pm.

This Hong Kong fave is popular for its open-air appeal and super friendly staff. You can work all day long in the sunshine, and once it hits afternoon, switch your flat white to an espresso martini. Both are great options on the menu.

Shop 4, G/F Rich Court, 213 Queen’s Rd W, Sai Ying Pun, 2559-5078. Open every day, times vary.

LQV Tseung Kwan O

TKO has a number of al-fresco eateries to work, eat and drink in peace. This French cafe is a great spot to spend your morning with a lovely wake-me-up best paired with their delicious fresh-baked croissants.

Alto Residences, Shop 4B, G/F, 29 Tong Yin St, Tseung Kwan O, 2381-6268. Open every day, 10:00am to 6:00pm.

Interval Lohas Park

Venture a little further outside of the aforementioned to land at Lohas Park, often described as miles away from the world. This little gem nestled within The Lohas mall is from the same founders of the Tung Chung restaurant of the same name, and has an outdoor area. You can work indoors, where natural light streams in, or on the patio, where you can savour the scrumptious coffee while tapping away at your laptop.

The Lohas, Shop Unit 417, 1 Lohas Park Road, Tseung Kwan O,  2638-8904. Open every day, times vary.

NOC Whampoa

Decked in an all-white facade, you’ll feel very sophisticated sitting in NOC. The Whampoa branch has outdoor benches so you can work while enjoying the cafe’s oh-so-famous coffee.

Shop G42, on the Ground Floor, Site 9, Whampoa Garden, Hung Hom, 2122-9751. Open every day, 8:00am to 6:00pm.

Glasshouse Greenery

In TST’s K11 Musea, Glasshouse Greenery offers a humble respite away from the crowds. The lesser-known Gaia Group restaurant hosts an expansive outdoor area where you can perch yourself all day. PS it’s dog friendly.

Cafe Claudel

Tai Kwun’s grounds features multiple WFH cafes that are al-fresco so take your pick – or rotate accordingly. We recommend beginning at Cafe Claudel so you can get that morning brew with a side of pastry to kickstart the day on the right foot.

Shop 01-G08, Tai Kwun, Central, 2411-1310. Open every day, 8:00am to 6:00pm.
