Wander towards the northernmost part of the lively Temple Street Night Market and you’ll come across a series of colorful tented booths. The shopkeepers here aren’t peddling T-shirts, accessories or electronic doo-dads, but fortunes. Following the tradition of fortune telling at or around temples, these fortune tellers have flanked the Tin Hau Temple — from which Temple Street takes its name — for years. Divine your future through a number of means, from palm reading and Chinese astrology to fortune telling by bird. If you don’t speak Chinese, check for the booths that are emblazoned with signs in English.
