What’s it called? Tai Kwun
What’s it all about? Art lovers, rejoice: after years of waiting, Tai Kwun is finally open. A stunning mix of arts and heritage on a scale that Hong Kong has never seen before, the complex comprises 16 heritage buildings — including the former Central Police Station — and two striking new buildings created by renowned architecture firm Herzog & De Meuron. The site will be home to a variety of visual art, performance art, and heritage-related programming, including exhibitions at the JC Contemporary gallery, dance, music and spoken word performances in the auditoriums and outdoor courtyards, and talks related to Hong Kong’s history.
Where is it? 10 Hollywood Road, Central.
