What’s it called? Tai Hang Fire Dragon Heritage Centre
What’s it about? The Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance is a celebration that happens every year in the Tai Hang neighborhood during Mid Autumn Festival. Believed to hold celestial power to fight off pandemics (sounds just what we need), the dance is a listed intangible cultural heritage in Hong Kong. Revamping the premises of “Hung Shing Yi Hok” (“Confucius free school for the poor”), Tai Hang Fire Dragon Heritage Centre opened its doors in June 2022, paying homage to Hakka culture while engaging the community in heritage conservation.
