What’s it called? Smoke & Barrels
What’s it all about? Created by the team behind Cupping Room and Doubleshot, Smoke & Barrels is a grab-and-go smokehouse specializing in New Orleans-style barbeque. Start with the signature hot brisket bun ($118; best eaten piping hot), fill up on the chicken, avocado and gouda ($98) or smoked salmon and cream cheese croissant ($78), then move onto the main event of ribs. We can highly recommend the falls-of-the-bone espresso bbq duroc pork baby back ribs ($138 (half) / $368 (whole). Pair with traditional sides like cornbread, choy sum “collard greens,” mac’n’cheese, and coleslaw, and for a cheeky treat, order a round of the slushie of the day (which comes spiked with booze). If you get the beignets for dessert (they’re a New Orleans tradition, after all) we promise we won’t tell. You can get everything to go, but there are a few small tables for two if you need a perch to eat.
