What’s it called? Emperor Cinemas
What’s it all about? Emperor Cinemas is entertainment conglomerate Emperor Group’s first cinema in Hong Kong, newly opened this month. Spanning 16,000sqft and two stories, this cinema is more than a mere movie theater. Guests at VIP theater The Coronet can expect reclining sofa-style seats, a personal USB charger for your phone, and even a steward who’ll serve up your snacks right to your seat. Speaking of snacks, Emperor Cinemas takes humble concessionary stand staples like hot dogs and nachos to a new level courtesy of gourmet concession Roomsbar. Created by a team of chefs and taking inspiration from US street food, Roombsbar’s menu features pork carnitas nachos and kobayashi sausage hot dog, complemented with cocktails like margaritas and G&Ts. The group hopes to open sit-down dining options alongside the cinema, too.
