The verdict’s in: we’re getting our hands on pop culture icons’ most iconic fashion moments, and it all started with Kim Kardashian’s homage (or some would argue, appropriation) to Marilyn Monroe’s “naked and dripping in diamonds” gown at the Met.
Why stop there? Following the mindset of any pioneering trendsetter, Kim recently celebrated her triumphant acquisition of the Attallah cross, famously worn by Princess Diana back in 1987, and many times after that.
Many important jewels came after (and before, of course) this revered oversized cross pendant bedazzled with amethysts and diamonds, and they’re only one bid from being in your personal collection at Sotheby’s Important Jewels auction on February 3, 2023.
Maximalists who prefer a little more than the classic solitaire setting will definitely appreciate the focus on structure, form and geometry this time around, where dazzling contenders from Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Bulgari, Buccellati and more are on exhibit.
To commemorate the 75th anniversary of Bulgari’s Serpenti collection, Sotheby’s has also curated an exceptional selection of serpentine jewels from private collectors, which you can view in person before the auction starts.
