Riddled with stress, fatigue and a general lack of mental stillness? There’s nothing a marathon of spa treatments can’t fix. We’ve handpicked eight of the best spas and bathhouses for you to visit in Shenzhen, so you won’t catch yourself tainted by an ounce of negativity again: you’ll emerge from your session glowing and rejuvenated.

Heat Joy Spa (汤悦温泉汗蒸)

Calling Heat Joy Spa a bathhouse inspired by Korean saunas would be like calling Batman‘s Wayne Manor some guy’s home. A huge understatement. Apart from the independent steam baths and saunas you would expect, this wellness beacon is in no rush to send guests off any time soon: lounge around in tatami capsules, or sectioned off bunk beds, if you’re looking for less claustrophobic options. Get comfortable, mountains of books and gaming setups are keeping you company.

1-2/F, Block B, 14 Terra 9th Road, Futian District, Shenzhen (广东省深圳市福田区泰然九路14号)

TENZ (汤崎·汤泉生活TENZ)

You know how the bathhouse in Spirited Away has everything from extravagant banquets to enough bathwater to clean an entire village? TENZ is a contemporary version of that. Arguably more well-equipped than a hotel, this all-in-one spa is home to various massage packages, saunas, electronic entertainment, free refreshments, free-flow ice cream (also free), and tatami cubicles to catch some Zs in. If you’re past the age of making the most out of your trips at the expense of sleep and stamina, TENZ is for you.

1-5/F, Podium Building, Huating, Guangcheng, Guohua Road, Futian District, Shenzhen (国花路港城华庭裙楼一层至五层)

JiuJiu Yangsheng (玖玖·影院足道·SPA)

Show your legs and feet some overdue TLC at JiuJiu Yangsheng, one of Shenzhen’s most popular chain foot massage parlors. But if you have any pre-existing bodily discomfort that needs soothing, opt for head, shoulder or back rubs, or any combination of the above. While your body is getting pampered, keep your mind entertained with a movie of your choice playing on a projection screen that is conveniently fixed at your eye level.

201, 2/F, Zhongdian Information Building Management Office, 1 Xinwen Road, Futian District, Shenzhen (新闻路1号中电信息大厦2楼201)

FOREST SPA (森SPA·泰式按摩·精油Massage)

Get the authentic Thai spa experience without the hassle of arriving 2 hours early at the airport and sitting through the flight. Decorated like an indoor forest, the aptly named FOREST SPA reintroduces peace and tranquility to your day-to-day with relaxing full body massages and aromatherapy, if you so fancy. Make sure to let your literal pain points be known by filling out the form beforehand, and your technician will fix you right up.

12D, 12/F, Haiying Building, Caitian Road, Futian District, Shenzhen (海鹰大厦12楼12D(岗厦地铁站A出口旁))

LACUNA (空栖SPA)

Spa day is one of the best ways to romanticize your life, and what better way to amplify the romance of it all by picking a spa that is as stunning as it is good at its craft? Embracing you in warm, torpid lighting, LACUNA restores the balance between your body and mind with a series of aromatherapy and classic massage rituals, so you’ll wake up feeling recharged. And don’t be in such a rush to leave: enjoy a few drinks and Chinese sweet soup before you do.

301-5, Arcade Block A, Gaofa Chengchiyuan, 119-110 Fumin Road, Futian District, Shenzhen (福田街道福民路高发城驰苑商业裙楼A栋301-5)

Ling Qi Spa (灵憩SPA)

In Chinese, ling qi means to let your soul rest (in a totally peaceful, non-death-related way). So as you expect, Ling Qi Spa attempts to restore your wellness to the fullest with detoxifying treatments, relaxing massages, and therapies pin-pointing your exact concerns. Having pulled too many all-nighters? Trouble falling asleep? Suffering from chronic fatigue? Get the package designed specifically for you, and feel your old (or young in this case) self slowly coming back.

31A, Shiji Haoting Building, 6029 Shennan Boulevard, Futian District, Shenzhen (沙头街道天安社区深南大道6029号世纪豪庭大厦31A)

In the Interlaken OCT Hotel’s European-style backyard, you can find more than a dozen types of bath suitable for everyone, from the aromatic rosewater spring to the nourishing milk bath. Really spoil yourself with a luxury treatment at the hotel spa right afterwards, you deserve it.

We believe environment is a crucial part of the spa experience. Who doesn’t want to feel like an absolute royalty once in a while? Well-appointed with quality equipment and a contemporary interior, Xihui Spa creates a space that boosts your serotonin whether you’re here for a short ear scooping session, or a multi-hour full-body treatment with friends.
