Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, most restaurants are now limiting or full-on cutting their dine-in options. Meanwhile, the rest of us are (hopefully) being socially responsible and staying at home. But, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get your fix of good food! Most restaurants have now transformed their offerings to offer takeaways and deliveries in Hong Kong so you can enjoy delicious meals and your favorite foods in the comfort of your own home! Here are some of our top picks – now go ahead and order and show your support for our local F&B scene!

[Updated July 2020]

The St. Regis Hong Kong

This swanky Wanchai hotel is home to no less than two Michelin-starred restaurants – the French-forward L’Envol and the elegant Cantonese Rùn, and while you can’t get takeaways from these two renowned restaurants, you can certainly order an equally decadent meal by Executive Chef Vincent Leroux who oversees The Drawing Room. The exclusive takeaway menu features salads aplenty – Black Angus Tenderloin Papaya? Boston Lobster Tail Caesar? Sign us up! – but you’ll also find pasta mains (tagliagelle with mushroom and truffle, rigatoni with parmesan, bacon, eggs, and arugula) and lavish sandwiches like a Wagyu Beef Burger and Boston Lobster Roll (served with fries, natch).

Need something to wash it all down? The St. Regis Bar is offering seven takeaway cocktail options – including classes like Negronis and Manhattans and creative takes such as the WEPA! (Jameson whiskey, Bacardi 8 years, banana, toasted allspice, clarified milk) and Hung Shing Ye (Vodka Beluga Nobel, milk-washed coconut, spice mix, St. Regis Vetiver essence). If you’re looking to spruce up the home bar, you can even get bespoke bottles of spirits by Distillerie de Paris, including gin, flavored vodka, rum, and brandy.

Order by 6pm for same-day service; spend over $600 for complimentary delivery to Sheung Wan, Central, Admiralty, Wanchai, and Causeway Bay. Guests can contact The Drawing Room on +852 2138 6800 or email srhk.drawingroom.bar@stregis.com

The Peninsula Hong Kong

This grande dame hotel is known for its stellar culinary offerings and now, you can enjoy its gastronomic delights in the comfort of your own home! Whether you’re after award-winning Cantonese from Michelin-starred Spring Moon, decadent Western fare, or the classic afternoon tea, you can get it all! The Peninsula Fare at Home offer is available between 10am and 9pm – simply call ahead, place your order, then pick it up when you’re ready. Everything is served in biodegradeable packaging, and if you bring your own bag, you’ll get a $20 discount off your bill!

The Langham Hong Kong

If you’re looking for a serious meal with a side of solid drinks, look no further. This luxury hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui is now offering deliveries from its much-lauded restaurants. Feast on New York-style sandwiches, burgers and ribs from Main St. Deli; order up the signature seafood and meat platter from Bostonian Seafood & Grill; or enjoy a moveable feast of global delicacies like Hainanese Chicken Rice and grilled tortilla wraps from The Food Gallery. Michelin-starred T’ang Court is even offering a 20% discount on its award-winning Cantonese cuisine if you pick up your order yourself.

Meraki

The team behind BEDU, Uma Nota, and Mama Always Said are now offering great-value lunches and delicious dinners for delivery and takeaway! For lunch, you can get a set for $115 (BEDU, Uma Nota) with a drink, dessert, and main. The real question is, what will you choose? Will it be spiced chicken and lamb shoulders from BEDU or grilled salmon or burgers and sweet potato fries from Uma Nota? For dinner, you’ll have a much more extensive menu that you can order a la carte to create a meal to your exact specifications. Did we mention there are also options to add on heavenly cookies and wine?

Cornerstone

Shane Osbourne, the Michelin-starred chef who took a turn on Netflix’s wildly popular reality cooking competition “The Final Table,” announced last week that his two Hong Kong restaurants will close temporarily, but that takeaway menus would be available. Expect approachable three-course menus from Cornerstone. Osbourne’s pushing plant-based dishes that’ll nourish you from the inside out. Simply place your order and tell them what time you want to pick it up.

Cornerstone is partnering with exclusive food distributor Waves Pacific to offer a special takeaway of fresh goodies, including 300g Ōra King Salmon fillet; 300g Rangers Valley Wagyu Bavette; 2 butterflied Brisbane Valley Jumbo Quail; 10 Japanese Taiyouran eggs; 2 large cans of Peroni, all for $500! Limited menus from Silencio, Poem, Piqniq, and Djapa are now available for delivery through Deliveroo. All you have to do is decide if you feel like Japanese izakaya-style treats, Balinese flavors, casual nibbles, or Nipo-Brasileiro eats.

Relish

This catering company usually specializes in feeding the masses at events, meeting, parties, and conferences. But, pivoting with the times, they’re now offering exclusive picnic baskets for two so you can have a fun date night at home while social distancing. At $450/person, your basket includes two mains, two sides, one dessert, cold cuts and cheese, and a bottle of wine. They’re even throwing in a puzzle to keep you entertained after you finish your meal! The baskets, throws, and games have all been sourced from local independent businesses, so you’ll be helping them stay afloat, too.
