You could make multiple treks to see a couple of temples and historic buildings one at a time. Or, you could  head to the Ping Shan Heritage Trail in Yuen Long and see a whole slew of heritage sites at once. A meandering journey stretching for 1.6km, the heritage trail links a number of traditional Chinese buildings and sites belonging to the Tang clan. Expect to see the Tsui Shing Lau Pagoda – Hong Kong’s oldest; the Shrine of the Earth God; and the Ping Shan Tang Clan Gallery and Heritage Centre. A number of traditional wais (walled villages), temples, and ancestral halls are scattered along the trail, too. Not all buildings are open to the public, however, so be sure to check opening conditions and times before you set out.
