Venus Koon is the founder of local cookie maker Baked Indulgence, which recently launched a pop-up shop in IFC that will run until February 10, 2021.
What do you do?
Baked Indulgence is a dessert shop selling delectable baked goods inspired by the founders’ roots and travels around the world.
How did your business get started?
The brand was originally founded in 2012 as Top Indulgence and was then re-branded to Baked Indulgence in 2019. We’ve always loved baking all kinds of desserts, especially cookies, so we started with some unique and elegant twists on the classic American chocolate chip cookie, which became our signature product.
We have also created an array of cookies featuring Asian flavors, such as milk tea, yuenyeung, and sakura. All our cookies are baked fresh every day with premium ingredients such as Valrhona chocolate chunks from France.
Who are your clients?
Food lovers! Anyone looking for fresh, premium, soft-baked and chewy cookies.
What’s a day in your working life like?
I work with the kitchen team, ensure the quality of our products, and coordinate with our store team to provide an efficient and effective customer experience. I also try to squeeze in time to do all the paperwork plus develop new flavors and products. Finally, I meet potential clients or brands to collaborate with. It’s busy, but I’m grateful!
How do you see your business in the future?
We hope to have a pop-up once or twice a year in different areas of Hong Kong while also focusing on online deliveries and stocking our goodies in coffee shops for retail clients. We are also exploring different types of collaborations and hope to introduce more products soon. Stay tuned!
