More of the Wan Chai Pier harbourfront has opened up this week! This newly opened section is located between the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre and Wan Chai Pier, and is about 2,750 square metres in size.
Aside from having many seats and spaces for the public, the promenade is also pet-friendly. The entire stretch welcomes pets on leash, and the next phase will see the completion of a pet garden where pets can run freely.
You will also learn about the changes to the Wan Chai coastline over the years. As the Wan Chai harbourfront has experienced multiple reclamation projects in the past century, the design team has installed neon light decorations and maps to explain how the 1km coastline north of Queen’s Roast East has transformed.
The Wan Chai promenade will continue to expand in phases. Over 45,000 square-meters of open space is scheduled to complete by the end of this year or early next year.
