Crossing Harbor in 7 Minutes: Hooray! The cross-harbor extension of MTR’s East Rail Line will begin operations on May 15. According to Secretary for Transport and Housing Frank Chan, travelling from Hung Hom to Admiralty will be cut short from nineteen to seven minutes, with the new Exhibition Centre station in Wan Chai in service to connect the two hubs. This also makes Admiralty station a “mass interchange station” that connects the Island Line, the South Island Line, the Tsuen Wan Line, and the East Rail Line.
Paying tribute to Hong Kong’s history, the new station will feature the casing of a WWII bomb and an art piece with 1,200 photos of the Victoria Harbour.
