It’s been a tough year for the F&B industry – especially given the latest restrictions – but there’s always a light at the end of the tunnel, right? And even more so, little victories. For its 14th consecutive edition, the MICHELIN Guide Hong Kong Macau 2022 released its list and we couldn’t be more excited. The latest edition includes a total of 11 newly starred restaurants, including two new Two Stars and 9 new One Stars, with 7 new Bib Gourmands. Let’s see who made the cut!
Anonymous MICHELIN inspectors have been busy looking out for the best eats in the city, bringing together 249 restaurants across the two territories of all types of cuisines from Latin American to Korean and beyond. In total, the 2022 edition highlights 71 starred restaurants in Hong Kong and 15 starred restaurants in Macau. 11 of them are new additions or promotion to the starred list. The list was announced on January 19th 2022.
New awardees include Latin American fine dining at MONO and the cult favorite Korean joint Hansik Goo. Rosewood Hong Kong’s Chaat was awarded one star and Amber got its coveted sustainability Michelin Green Star. Italian restaurant Octavium received its second Michelin star with Cantonese restaurant Yan Toh Heen following suit for the 2022 edition. Belon finally got its first Michelin star, alongside nine restaurants in the same boat.
