Last year, the announcement was made that Octopus cards would be integrated with Apple Pay — and this month the relevant iOS update was released. Now, you can top up your Octopus card via your Apple Wallet or even add a virtual Octopus card to your iPhone or Apple Watch.

You can opt to transfer an existing physical card to your Apple device, or create a new virtual card. Once your virtual card is available, you can tap your iPhone or Apple Watch to any Octopus reader just like the physical card.

The update works with iPhone 8 and Apple Watch series 3 models or newer, and with standard Octopus cards for adults or senior citizens.
