Next time it’s 3am and you have a sudden hankering for fresh sushi, or are struck with the inspiration to spruce up your home decor, head over to Don Don Donki in Mira Place II, Tsim Sha Tsui. The southeast Asian arm of the massively popular Japanese discount chain Don Quijote (nicknamed “Donki”), Don Don Donki opened its first Hong Kong outlet in mid-July. The 23,000-square foot store joins branches in Singapore, Bangkok, and even the USA, in addition to the 350 Donki stores across Japan.
Don Don Donki boasts Japanese fresh food, snacks, and bentos, as well as lifestyle, home, and beauty products — plenty of which at a steep discount compared to other supermarkets. The best bit? All Don Don Donki branches are open 24 hours a day.
Watch out for the store’s 50,000-square foot flagship outlet, which will open at Ocean Pride (OP Mall) in Tsuen Wan this winter.
