Spring time in Hong Kong came and went with lightning speed. Just like that, the sweltering summer heat is upon us once again. If you can’t handle the crowded public pools, buy yourself a day pass at one of these luxury hotels and cool off in style.
Sink into luxury at the The Conrad, which boasts a gorgeous outdoor pool. A day pass (weekdays, $370 per person; weekends, $480 per person) grants you access to the pool, sauna and steam room. If you want to work out too, you can also purchase full access to Health Club facilities (weekdays, $480 per person; weekends, $600 per person).
Back for a second year, the Weekend by the Pool package (weekends and public holidays, $950 per person) is a pretty awesome deal available in the summer season: you’ll have access to the pool, gym, group classes (11am-5pm), plus a 60-minute body massage. That’s not all: the package includes free-flow light snacks and juices, plus champagne and cocktails (4-5pm) at the Conrad’s Garden Café Terrace.

The great thing about the pool at Le Meridien Cyberport? Nestled in peaceful Pok Fu Lam, it’s blissfully crowd-free. Overlooking the Lamma Channel, this is a great, quiet spot to spend the day in the sun with a great book, or your laptop — the pool passes are available on weekdays only. A day pass (weekdays, $300 per person) grants you access to the outdoor swimming pool and whirlpool as well as the gym, which is equipped with a sauna and steam room.

If you’re looking to spend the day by the pool with a harbor view to die for, look no further than The InterContinental Hong Kong: The vast infinity pools afford a great vista of the harbor. Book yourself in for any I-Spa Full Day Rituals at the hotel and you’ll gain access to the pools. The treatments don’t come cheap — but you’ll get a full-day of pampering, plus a three-course health lunch and use of the fitness center. The Regenerate and Revitalise package ($3,980 per person, three hours and 45 minutes) focuses on improvement on circulation and the skin tone through a body mask, massage and facial.

The 18-meter-long rooftop pool at the Cordis comes complete with jacuzzis and inviting cabanas. The Chuan Spa at the Cordis offers a day pass ($450 per person) that includes use of the pool, fitness studio, plus sauna and steam rooms. If you book a treatment at the Chuan Spa, you’ll also get the same access. The deals are scheduled to change without notice, so do call ahead.

The Mira‘s pool might not be outdoors — but it definitely shouldn’t be overlooked. The tranquil infinity pool is part of the award-winning MiraSpa, a luxurious bolthole that features a gym, sauna, steam room, whirlpools and fancy showers, plus a waterbed flotation lounge. Those who are after a full day of relaxation will be pleased to know that a day pass ($400 per person) offers access to all of the above.

The pool at the Island Shangri-La is an oasis right in the middle of the city. Sun-worshippers need not worry: the pool has no shortage of sunlight despite the surrounding skyscrapers.
