After a 5-year renovation, Gurudwara Khalsa Diwan Hong Kong, the city’s only Sikh temple, finally reopens to welcome worshippers again into the 76,000 square feet space with a new prayer hall, an upgraded library, classrooms and conference rooms.
Founded in 1901 by Sikh members in the British Army in Hong Kong, Gurudwara Khalsa Diwan Hong Kong has been where the Sikh community with an approximate population of 15,000 in the city gathers. Besides Punjabi and Sikh literature classes, the temple is also planning to start Cantonese classes in the future to give back to the community.
