Rum Rations: A new addition to Soho’s drinking and dining offerings, The Daily Tot is a Cuban-inspired rum bar built around the history of Royal Navy sailors in the 1800s getting their daily rum rations to keep them hale and hearty while at sea.
Look & Feel: Step into The Daily Tot and you could almost imagine stepping into Havana – if the Cuban capital underwent a modern, glamorous makeover. The burnt orange walls, green shutters, and artwork are straight off the streets of Old Havana. Of course, there are sly tributes to rum’s naval history, too, with plenty of steamer trunks and wooden barrels built into the space’s decor.
On the Menu: Rum, is, of course, the house special at The Daily Tot. You’ll find varietals from all across the Caribbean, including Cuba, Barbados, Bermuda, Panama, and the Dominican Republic, which you’ll be able to sample on rotation with the bar’s “Daily Tot” samples. Try one of the signature cocktails, which showcase the rum without masking its flavor. the Old Tot features The Daily Tot’s blended rum, prosecco, lime, fresh mint, and bitters, while La Bamba is an eco-friendly concoction of Plantation Dark Rum, Remy Martin VSOP, maple syrup, tobacco bitters, and smoked apple wood chips.
Great For: Boozy conversations and fun-filled date nights.
FYI: This fun bar also has a cigar menu with smokes that pair perfectly with the rum.
