Cell Block Tango: Joining a slew of new restaurant openings at stately FWD House 1881 in Tsim Sha Tsui is The Cell, a fascinating bar concept that sees innovative cocktails being served up in historic surroundings.

Look & Feel: FWD House 1881 was formerly a marine police station, with The Cell’s location being the reporting room. While it used to hold jail cells where dastardly criminals of the sea were flung into, now it’s home to a sophisticated bar with plenty of dark wood and nods to the location’s past.

On the Menu: Expect all the classics from negronis to martinis. Or go for rum, tequila, vodka, gin or cognac by the glass; the whisky options are particularly extensive. There’s a range of old and new world wines to choose from, too.

The bar’s signature cocktails are all about innovation. We have our eyes on the Rose Fragrance Gunboat, a concoction of pink gin, cream, bergamot and rose, and the Blooms Flip, which is created with cold brewed whisky, house coffee, sweet vermouth, cynar, choco bitters and egg (both $148).
