Thai and Taiwanese: Super-trendy Ship Street has a brand new addition. Its name says it all — serving up a combination of Thai- and Taiwanese-inspired nibbles, Thaiwan also has plenty of homegrown and imported craft brews on tap.

Look & Feel: The ground floor space has a very casual, neighborhood feel with sliding doors, exposed brick walls and the like.

On the Menu: There’s a huge selection of booze here that goes above and beyond your standard bottles. Beers from local breweries like Moonzen and Lion Rock can be found alongside IPAs from US-based Epic Brewing Company and New Zealand brewery 8 Wired. There’s also a long list of Taiwanese and Japanese whiskies. Pair drinks with Thai an Taiwanese sharing plates, such as spicy wings, bite-sized baby bao with braised pork served with pickles, and Taiwanese night market-style sausages.

Great For: After-work beers and nibbles, casual weekend nights out.

FYI: Happy hour is from 4-9pm. Plus, every Monday from 5-8pm, Taiwanese or Thai beers are just $15 each.
