Farm-to-table: Tartine is not your average all-day dine. Taking its cues from the belle époque era, the sophisticated address serves gourmet farm-to-table French in a photogenic setting right beside the escalator.
Look & Feel: With two-stories to its name, the French restaurant resembles a contemporary farmhouse. Can we say it’s country chic? Picture wooden floors, fresh white tables and counter tops, brass piping and huge windows that invite lots of natural light to spill in. There’s a terrace, too, where you can people watch by day or enjoy a tipple in the evening.
On the Menu: If you couldn’t take the hint from the name, Tartine will revolve around French open-faced sourdough sandwiches. We can only hope that the sandwiches raise the bar a bit, as we find it pretty impossible to find a good sammie around town. Of course, taking a luxury approach to whole thing, the sandwiches here sound like a splurge, as do the sharing plates which revolve around foie gras and truffles. There’s also an enticing menu of French wines and cocktails to sauce up your sandwich.
Meet the Chef: Philippe Orrico, also behind Upper Modern Bistro and ON Dining Kitchen & Lounge, put together the menu and is staying on as a consultant so you can expect big things.
Great For: Breakfast, lunch, coffee, dinner, drinks, all-day procrastination if you don’t want to go back to work.
FYI: The resto’s part of the Art de Vivre Group, which also owns Mr Green Juice. So go and vivez the good life already!
