Crabby Meal: Sexy Crab is all about rich, creamy Shanghainese hairy crabs. Located in Tsim Sha Tsui’s K11 Musea, the “crab roe noodle specialist” uses only premium hairy crabs from Jiangsu that weigh over 150 grams. The menu is simple but indulgent, focusing on variations of the classic crab roe and hand-pulled noodles.

Look & Feel: Located on the fourth floor of K11 Museu, the restaurant seats 23 persons and has a chic, contemporary vibe. The interior uses dark mahogany furnishings, neon signs, and vintage tiles to create a feeling of an underground bar in old Shanghai.

On the Menu: The single-page menu features 12 items in total. 50-50 (HK$188) is crab meat noodles in a rich yellow croaker soup, which is made with a dozen types of seasonal fishes and stewed overnight, topped with their secret shrimp paste and crab roe sauce. The signature Sexy Crab (HK$368) features a giant portion of crab roe, made from 12 crabs in total, and is served in a platter of male crab roe, female crab roe, crab meat, crab oil, yellow croaker soup, so you can mix your noodles to your personal liking. The final and most expensive noodle dish Pillow Talk (HK$888) is limited only to five portions per day — crab roe is stuffed into a whole fish maw and served over handmade thick noodles. The staff will gently slice open the fish maw at your table, revealing the rich and creamy crab roe inside. Other than noodles, there’re also three crab-centric appetizers, a ginger-themed cocktail,  three non-alcoholic drinks, and a dessert.

Great For: Dinner with friends, a special meal

FYI: Did you know that male and female crab roes taste different? Male crab roe is velvety and creamy, while female crab roe is crumbly in texture but stronger-tasting. To harness the best of both roes, Sexy Crab uses a mixture made up of five parts male roe, three parts female roe, and two parts crab meat for the perfect balance.
