Caribbean Escape: Walk by Rummin’ Tings on any given night and you’re guaranteed a party. The Caribbean-themed bar shakes up rum-centric cocktails aplenty, and there’s a live DJ on weekends to spice things up.
Look & Feel: Sitting just by the escalators on Hollywood Road, it’s a hotspot for who are looking to wind down after a long day — as well as partygoers downing a few before a big night ahead. If you manage to squeeze in, you’ll find a tropical-inspired backdrop and groovy reggae and hip-hop beats pumping out the speakers.
On the Menu: The signature cocktails all come with different varieties of rum or tequila. Try the Calypso Punch (Bacardi Oakheart rum, Creme de Cassis, cinnamon syrup, apple juice), which strikes a balance between rum’s smoky taste with lighter flavors.
Service: One thing that we like about Rummin’ Tings is that the staff clearly love what they do — don’t be surprised to find them bursting into song when a 90s R&B favorite comes on.
Jeng: We love people-watching at Rummin’. Most weekends, you’ll find the glamorous crowd spilling out to the streets, rum in hand. Don’t miss out on the food, inspired by Trinidadian, Jamaican and other West Indian dishes.
Not So Jeng: Some of the pitchers are super-strong. Jeng or not so jeng? You decide.
Great For: Dancing, people-watching, hanging out late-night.
FYI: Rummin’ Tings’ two-hour long “all you can jerk” weekend brunch has free-flow Caribbean Pimms, beer and wine alongside jerk platters for HK$388.
