Hailing from Texas: Roundhouse Wan Chai is the not-so-little brother of  The Roundhouse Taproom, which brings Texas-style fried chicken and a larger selection of tap beers.

Look and feel: A two-story venue which is far from a tavern or college bar but also not a cocktail bar: Roundhouse is kind of like that place you go to get your pub fix, except five times cooler.

On the menu: 32 tap beers, southern-style, buttermilk-fried chicken and lunch combos start at $88 including fried chicken sandwiches, a drink and your choice of mac & cheese, cheddar broccoli tots or cornbread hushpuppies.

Great for: Boys nights, craft beer taste platters and getting your pub fix in a spot that’s a little more upmarket.

FYI: We’re also big fans of the playlist. Picture: Six Pence None the Richer, Bruno Mars and other lovely-dovey kind of songs.
