Fresh Feast: K-Town keeps getting cooler and coolers and PICNIC on Forbes promises to raise the bar even higher. The alfresco spot delivers pretty much what the name suggests: fresh, rustic food in picnic baskets.

Look & Feel: Designed by Tim Shepard of Two Men in Hats, the spacious dining room immediately gives off a casual and informal feel, where you can roll up anytime of day for a light bite or a full-on feast.

Meet the Chef: Philippe Orrico, the brains behind Upper Modern Bistro and ON Dining Kitchen & Lounge has been BUSY. He also helped out with the menu at just-opened Tartine in addition to launching this new spot in K-Town.

On the Menu: We hear there’s going to be roasted French chickens, cheese platters and fruit tarts. All things we can get very excited about. Perhaps a little on the nose, the signature will be “The Picnic Basket”, which includes roasted chicken and a mysterious but delicious-sounding “macaroni cupcake” for $298. Tipplers will appreciate the carefully edited wine menu and the well-crafted cocktails.

Great For: A whimsical lunch with friends or a spontaneous date.

FYI: No seats inside? Ask about the takeaway option, so you can have your picnic to the park.
