Hasta la Pasta: Pirata Group has seen so much success with its flagship project that it is dabbling in another Italian concept — this time, we’re talking Pici pasta bar on quiet St. Francis Yard.

Look & Feel: An open front with semi-alfresco seating, light woods and neutral tones set the scene at Pici.

On the Menu: Pastas, made fresh. The options are a bit more eccentric than your typical Italian resto, but relatively simple: signatures include the eponymous pici in a cacio e pepe or Amatriciana combo. Orecchiette, ravioli and other beautiful-sounding Italian strands can also be had. The menu is beefed up with starters like burrata and homemade meatballs. Italian wines and aperitifs like Negronis and Aperol Spritz are the highlights on the drinks side.

Meet the Chef: Andrea Viglione heads up Pici’s kitchen.

Great For: A casual night out; weekend retreat.

FYI: Pirata Group is headed by ambitious restaurateurs Manuel Palacio and Christian Talpo.

This writeup is a news piece and was not based on a restaurant visit. The Loop will update this post once we’ve visited in person.
