Authentic Italian: Originally opened in Milan in 1977, pizza and pasta joint Paper Moon now has branches across the globe, from Beirut to Manila. Its newest branch landed in Harbour City last month in celebration of the restaurant’s 40th anniversary, serving up homestyle Italian fare complemented by ingenious cocktails.
Look & Feel: Located at the tip of Ocean Terminal’s newest wing, Paper Moon boasts excellent views of the harbor. Inside, there’s an elegant palette of dark woods and warm tones, with black and white film stills adorning the walls. Paper screens add an Asian touch — or perhaps reference the restaurant name.
On the Menu: It’s all about the pizza here. The pies are prepared piping hot in a 1.4-tonne Ambrogi pizza oven flown in directly from Italy, so there’s no doubting the authenticity. Try the Pizza Valtellina, topped with beef bresaola, mozzarella, rocket and Parmigiano Reggiano. The rest of the menu is not to be neglected either, however; it’s filled with Italian staples such as handmade burrata with heirloom tomato and basil, spaghetti with clams and tiramisu.
Great For: A romantic pizza for two.
FYI: The terrace boasts one of the best views in town.
