Ice Cream Sandwiches: Munchies is a much-welcomed — and dangerous — addition to stair-lined Shin Hing Street in the Soho nabe. The two-story shop specializes in inventive American-style desserts, from donuts to ice-cream sandwiches.

Look & Feel: Cool, fun, and eclectic — that’s Munchies in a nutshell. On the ground floor is a simple counter displaying the goodies and shelves full of quirky and random retail products (dog biscuits, for example), and on the floor above, two communal tables for eat-in customers.

On the Menu: Munchies is using a few buzzwords to draw in health-conscious dessert enthusiasts — think organic, all-natural, handmade and free from genetic modification. Cookies—the big, thick, chewy variety — are available in classic flavors like chocolate chip and double chocolate, and more exotic varieties such as green tea and Earl Grey. There are also glazed, topped, and filled donuts if you’re after something nominally lighter. Ice-cream can be used as filling for both cookies and donuts as soon as you say the word.

Great For: A midday snack, or after-dinner indulgence. Just remember to save room!

FYI: Did we mention the dog biscuits?
