Eco Excellence: MANA! Café is as green as ever at this new location, which centers around fair-trade coffee and compostable eco-friendly takeaway cups.
Look & Feel: Following MANA! Cafe and MANA! Raw, Hong Kong’s organic mecca has expanded to include one more green address under its umbrella. MANA! Café fits right in with the chic PoHo neighborhood, where trendy shops and boutiques abound.
On the Menu: It’s a fair trade affair at MANA! Café, which is devoted to single-origin beans from the likes of Honduras. Signature drinks such as the MANA! KoKo latte ($50) stir in raw cacao butter for an extra creamy result. For lunch, try one of the 9-inch open-style flatbreads, a superfood-packed breakfast bowl or homemade vegan ice cream.
Jeng: We recommend The Da Vinci “open flat” ($100, aka organic wholewheat flatbreads), which comes generously topped with rocket, soft-boiled eggs and sun-dried tomatoes. On a good-weather day, a table outside is all you’ll ever need.
Not So Jeng: The portions here are massive, and if you’re not in the mood to devour a 9-inch flat on your own and have no friends to share it with, good luck to you.
Great For: Healthy lunches, casual coffees, guilt-free dining.
FYI: MANA! operates with a “Zero Food Waste” policy, composting all of its waste at farms in the New Territories.
