A Slice of Paris: This Star Street restaurant serves up contemporary French fare in a romantic, atmospheric setting.

Look & Feel: Nestled in the trendy yet tranquil Star Street neighborhood, Maison ES immediately catches the eye with the charming arrangement of vintage bicycles and flowers in front of its mint-green facade. Inside, the dreamy, romantic 2,300sqft space features a bar and dining area decorated with antiques and collectibles from across the globe courtesy of chef and restaurateur Esther Sham.

On the Menu: The contemporary French cuisine at Maison ES sits comfortably between casual and classy, combining the best of both. The dishes also feature a generous dash of Asian flavor. Think Hokkaido scallop ceviche topped with salmon roe, sweet corn, okra, mizuna and honey yuzu dressing, or French duck breast with roasted baby leek and hoisin duck jus.

Meet the Chef: Former model Esther Sham worked in private French dining establishments for six years before opening the restaurant. She opened her first establishment, private kitchen Ta Pantry, in 2008. A woman of many talents, she’s also worked in design and television.

Great For: Date night, hens’ night, a sumptuous afternoon tea.

FYI: Watch out for their limited experimental set menus.
