Viva Italia! Legendary Geneva pizzeria Kytaly has opened its first overseas location on happening Wyndham Street. Even better? It serves up the same delicious pies that put its founder’s hometown on the culinary map.
Look & Feel: The restaurant is upscale yet casual with plenty of gold and warm woods, with a roomy outdoor terrace.
On the Menu: Pizza, of course, all made from ingredients sourced straight from Italy following secret family recipes that result in a light dough quite unlike that of your regular Neapolitan pizza. The Margherita Sbagliata, chef Franco Pepe’s take on the margherita pizza, received the annual Best Pizza in the World award since 2016. Other items on the menu include salads and antipasti.
Meet the Chef: Kytaly founder Franco Pepe is a third generation baker hailing from the small Italian town of Caiazzo, which he and his family helped transform into a food hub, while Antonio Cecere oversees the kitchen in Hong Kong.
FYI: The restaurant is also home to Hong Kong’s first Campari bar. Perched on the terrace, it serves up classic Negronis and Campari spritzes alongside Italian and French wines.
