Homey Indian: Tucked away in the behemoth Chung King Mansion in TST, Khyber Pass Mess Club 7E is a simple spot that spares style to focus on the substance of its home-style Indian cooking.
Look & Feel: Simple, sparse and cosy. Expect simple lino tables, leather chairs, cream walls, and shiny red drapery at the windows. It’s not fancy, but it gets the job done – you’re here to eat, right? This is a place to kick back, relax with friends and enjoy a hearty, flavorful meal.
On the Menu: Indian everything, the way a real Indian grandma would cook it. Think tandoori meats, fragrant curries and freshly-baked naan. Signatures dishes include the rich chicken Makhani and the tandoori mixed grill, which pair well with popular drinks like lassi diklhush and mango lassi. Khyber Pass Mess Club 7E is also going to be putting Impossible Meat dishes on its menu from October to get on board with sustainability and vegans.
Great For: A casual family-style meal with a group of friends.
FYI: The restaurant doesn’t include service charge at the end of a meal. Instead, it offers a “20%” discount on all their bills to encourage diners to leave generous tips for staff.
