Peruvian Paradise: Latin American cuisine has truly become a trend in the city. And the latest restaurant to make waves in Hong Kong’s dining scene is ICHU Peru, opening mid-August 2018. Spearheaded by celebrated Peruvian chef Virgilio Martínez, the restaurant joins the slew of fine-dines at arts hub H Queen’s in Central.

Look & Feel: ICHU Peru was designed by Joyce Wang Studio, and the inimitable Hong Kong designer has brought her iconic industrial-chic style to the casual space in spades. Look around and you’ll spot plenty of fascinating materials and textures that take their cue from Martínez’s native Peru.

On the Menu: Expect authentic Peruvian comfort food. Prepared with traditional ingredients and served up bistro-style, naturally.

Meet the Chef: Peruvian chef Martínez took home the Chef’s Choice Award at The World’s 50 Best Restaurants awards in 2017 for his restaurant Central in Lima. Lima also topped Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants list for three years in a row. ICHU Peru’s resident chef is Sang Jeong, who worked closely alongside Martínez at Central.

FYI: Dubai-based Bulldozer Group, who’s also behind Causeway Bay’s Seafood Room, collaborated on the project.
