Retro Japan: Pirata Group, the group behind such restaurants as The Optimist, TokyoLima, Pici, Chaiwala and Madame Ching, introduce their latest offering: modern Japanese eatery Honjo opening in Sheung Wan.

Look & Feel: Designed by Ben McCarthy of interior design studio Charlie & Rose, Honjo boasts a retro yet futuristic aesthetic inspired by the 1950s featuring a host of quirky details. Think stained glass windows and eye-catching hanging lights. The restaurant is also split into four distinct areas titled, intriguingly, Tin Toys Lobby, Safari Room, Red Armoury and Blue Suite.

On the Menu: Sushi, sashimi, tempura, and other hot dishes. While traditional Japanese cuisine is the name of the game, the restaurant also takes inspiration from ingredients and techniques from across the globe.

Great For: A splash of excitement with your meal; the colorful themed dining areas and sushi counter definitely provide a little something different upon each visit.

FYI: Although the restaurant officially opens at the end of July, their online booking system is already available for you to reserve your seat in advance.
