Brewery in Fo Tan: Attention Japanese craft beer fans — Hitachino Nest has opened up a 7,500-square-foot brewery in our city, making fresh brews daily. So it’s not quite a bar or restaurant, but the ground floor does come with a retail space that lets patrons sample the different beers on tap.

Look & Feel: The ground floor retail space is modestly sized, and comes with a window that peeps into the beer-making factory grounds. There’s a cozy bar in front, where you can order different Hitachino products to try.

On the Menu: Beer, beer and beer. You can sample up to six different beers, from a chocolatey sweet stout to a fruity red rice ale, to a citrus-loaded Dai Dai ale. Take a tour ($200/person, every Saturday at 2pm) of the factory and you can try fresh beers directly from the tanks.

Great For: Weekend outings, a fun first date.

FYI: Hitachino Nest belongs to Kiuchi Brewery from Ibaraki Prefecture.

This writeup was based on a complimentary media tasting. The Loop doesn’t guarantee/sell restaurant review coverage. See our editorial policy here.
