Exploring German Home Food: Heimat, Chef Peter Find’s newest endeavor after leaving the Ritz-Carlton, is set to join the many great restaurants in Central this April. Translates to “homeland” in German, Heimat serves food inspired by the regional cuisines in the Chef’s hometown in Bersrod, Germany, where around 800 people make their home.
Look & Feel: From the snippets the restaurant graces us with, guests are to be dining in a cozy area with bright, warm lighting. Dominated by wooden furniture and enlightened by a dash of refreshing blue, the interior of Heimat welcomes diners with a contemporary yet comfy interior that also exudes a youthful flair.
On The Menu: Heimat’s menu will be the Chef’s interpretation of German cuisine in the 21st century, attempting traditional dishes with a modern approach while celebrating both German food and drinks.
Expect the best of seafood, such as lobsters, paired with Frankfurter herb sauce that complements the centerpiece with relish. Diners familiar with Chinese food cannot miss out on Königsberger klopse, a traditional home dish in Germany that might remind diners of the Shanghainese “lion head” meatballs (獅子頭). Made with minced pork, coriander, onion and pepper, the pork ball sitting in a caper sauce will most certainly spark different joy as a dish Hong Kong foodies think they are most familiar with.
Great For: Family dinner, exploring German food
FYI: Stay close to Heimat’s socials to get the most updated information on its grand opening!
