Lock and Load: From Mayfare Concepts, the team behind Gaylord Indian Restaurant, comes comes Gunpowder Indian Restobar, a fiery, contemporary new Indian eatery in Wan Chai.

Look & Feel: This ain’t your average curry house. Gunpowder is all about sleek, modern design infused with a touch of tradition. Expect hexagonal tiled floors, a wall of wine, plus green velvet chairs, and industrial-esque metal light fixtures.

On the Menu: Don’t expect traditional Indian food here. Gunpowder specializes in “IndianSum” – an sub-continental spin on dim sum. You’ll be dining on savoury street food, grilled meats, freshly-baked breads – and yes, appropriately fiery curries. We’re eyeing off the Gunpowder Chicken and Nizam’s Tacos – cottage cheese marinated in truffle cardamom encased in roti tacos.

Great For: A bit of everything, from casual business lunches to date nights and dinners with friends.

FYI: There’s a good drinks menu featuring Indian twists on classics like the Gunpowder Negroni.
