Vegetarian in Sheung Wan: Vegetarian diner Grassroots Pantry has moved from its quiet Sai Ying Pun enclave to busy Hollywood Road in Sheung Wan. GP 2.0 is an all-day diner serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Look & Feel: The new Grassroots Pantry is a much bigger space, fitting up to 60 diners at a time. Amazingly high ceilings, plants on the walls, and plush orange seats that line the walls are standout features.

Meet the Chef: The talented Peggy Chan multi-tasks as both chef and proprietor of the restaurant. See our interview with here.

On the Menu: Despite the new location, the GP philosophy remains the same: organic and sustainable ingredients turned into colorful and delectable international vegetarian dishes, cooked traditionally or through raw techniques.

Jeng: Everything, from the mushroom tempeh rendang ($128 including appetizer for lunch) to the kelp satay noodle salad ($128 including appetizer for lunch), is an explosion of flavors and you’ll barely miss the meat.

Not So Jeng: The place gets really busy during lunch and weekends, so do book ahead!

Great For: A guilt-free meal pre- or post-workout, a coffee break, an afternoon of freelance work.

FYI: The original GP was on Fuk Sau Lane in Sai Ying Pun.
