Our Own People: Named for the Teochew word for “family”, Gaginang is part of a slew of new restaurant openings in Harbour City, serving up elevated Chiu Chow favorites in a sleek, modern setting.
Look & Feel: Designed by Steve Leung Design, the restaurant’s layered look is inspired by traditional Chiu Chow architecture. The light, airy space overlooks the harbor and features plenty of plush seating and marbled accents.
GaginangOn the Menu: Divvied up into dim sum, starters, soups, meat, seafood, vegetables, and rice and noodles, the menu features Chiu Chow classics created with prime ingredients. Think baby oyster congee, chilled crab, slow-cooked Angus beef with Chiu Chow barbecue sauce, and mont blanc oolong cake. There’s an East-meets-West slant to the restaurant’s offerings, too, so expect more Western fare such as goose liver tart topped with caviar and slow-cooked cod with creamy caviar sauce, as well.
Great For: Business lunches; a leisurely post-shopping meal.
FYI: There are private VIP rooms available for booking, too.
