Wine & Mezze: Middle Eastern restaurant and bar FRANCIS joins the usual suspects at Wan Chai’s Star Street Precinct, bringing a dash of Israeli flair to the neighborhood.

Look & Feel: Joining the bevy of trendy eateries in the happening Star Street Precinct, Francis is plush and intimate, with plenty of brass and amber accents and moody drop lighting to class up the place. A touch of the Middle Eastern can be found in the ornate, sculpted bar.

On the Menu: Francis is all about the mezze and grilled platters that are all the rage in Tel Aviv. Think hummus topped with lamb ragu, grilled octopus with harissa, kafta (Lebanese minced meat kebabs) and chicken schnitzel with za’atar. Wash it all down with a creative cocktail or an Old or New World tipple from the comprehensive wine list.

Meet the Chef: Chef Asher Goldstein is Israeli-born and took inspiration from his childhood memories to create the menu at Francis, so you can expect Middle Eastern fare that’s as authentic as it comes.

Great For: Taking your oenophile friends to enjoy some top class bottles accompanied by a truly excellent mezze spread.

FYI: By the glass and half bottle selections on the wine list rotate regularly for broader variety.
