Straight Outta Versailles: Not content with dominating Hong Kong Instagram feeds with extravagant desserts creations from patisseries around town, Dalloyau began opening up bistros, bringing all-day Parisian-style to the city. Following the success of the first branch at Pacific Place, Dalloyau Bistro has now opened at the Entertainment Building in Central. Dalloyau boasts some serious heritage — it began serving the court of Louis XIV at the Palace of Versailles in France back in 1682.

Look & Feel: The new space pays homage to its French roots, with elegant red and turquoise velvet furnishings, plus illustrations of landmarks like the Eiffel Tower adorning its walls.

On the Menu: This branch of Dalloyau Bistro offers several dishes that are not found elsewhere: think crab salad with jellied tomato consommé and avocado ice cream ($188) and smoked eel and foie gras terrine with tomatoes ($168). Like many other restaurants these days, there is an emphasis on health, so you’ll also get the likes of steamed grouper with cucumber and goji berries and dairy-free sweet treats like apple sorbet with apple gel. Elsewhere on the menu, there are afternoon tea sets and of course, pastries, for which Dalloyau is most famous. Look out for apple turnovers, which are freshly baked between 3pm and 5pm.

Great For: Afternoon get-togethers and romantic dinners for two.

FYI: In a rush? Grab made-to-order sandwiches, pastries and premium coffees to go.
