Innovative Chinese Gastronomy: MIRA DINING has just opened a new Chinese dining destination in the heart of Central’s ifc – meet CHINESOLOGY. The restaurant, under the experienced leadership of Saito Chau, serves modern Chinese dishes from the Tang Dynasty, AKA the Golden Age of China.

Look & Feel: The interiors are inspired by the exotic Garden of Eden combined with classic oriental design. Of course, it’s a lot more modern than your typical Chinese banquet hall. So, it takes a sleek and sophisticated approach for day-to-night dining.

On the Menu: Come hungry for the “Flavours of Life” degustation menu, a welcoming exhibit of Chef Saito’s extraordinary culinary fare. Dishes pay tribute to traditional flavors with a new spin. The tasting menu comprises nine courses to sate your appetite, coming one by one. From the one-bite premium Wagyu on a cracker to the irresistible 20-head dried abalone, you can expect top-notch ingredients with familiar Chinese cooking techniques.

The oolong tea-smoked chicken is crispy on the outside, and succulent soft on the inside. Meanwhile, the double broiled soup is a proud rendition of the aromatic Chinese favorite. Plus, dessert is heavenly, the preserved plum mousse is the perfect way to end an indulgent meal.

If you’re not feeling like the full tasting menu, you can try the a la carte dishes which are also noteworthy. The roast goose puff and sea cucumber dumpling are on our must-try list. Let’s not forget cocktails though. After all, alcohol was a popular pastime during the Tang Dynasty. CHINESOLOGY combines Chinese herbology with modern mixology. CHINESOLOGY Bar Manager Fan Tsang’s four signature cocktails include Bamboo Punch, Tietini, Chinese Apothecary and Thanks Emperor. We can’t wait to try the house gin of CHINESOLOGY too.
