Mediterranean Noms: From the folks behind La Cabane, BAYTA takes up a gorgeous space at the western end of Hollywood Road.

Look & Feel: A fresh paint of deep teal, textured tiles, and shiny brass make this 600-square-foot restaurant pop. Designer Elsa Jean de Dieu created a sophisticated but relaxing vibe, with shades of blue and green complemented by warm wood.

Bayta
Color me copper!

Meet the Chef: Tatted-up executive chef Pauline Steiner brings style and substance to the table.

On the Menu: The eclectic menu takes a trip around the Mediterranean Sea, with nods to Lebanon, Spain, Italy, Greece, Israel and even North Africa. If it sounds like a trip — you’d be right. Chef Steiner aims to bring fresh flavors to Hong Kong, in the way of a three-course menu ($650) that changes regularly with the seasons and uses sustainably sourced veggies, meat, and fish. Known for pouring natural wines, La Cabane will be supplying the wine list and you can enjoy a glass from $80 or ask about the wine pairings.

FYI: Apparently BAYTA means “small house” in ancient Hebrew, so make yourself at home.
