It Takes Two: French restaurant Bistro du Vin and wine concept The Wine Experience have teamed up to open Bâtard, an eatery that’s all about wine and the French comfort food that pairs well with it.

Look & Feel: Casual yet intimate, Bâtard is located along an unassuming street in quiet Sai Ying Pun and its interiors feature plenty of warm woods and blackboard-style walls.

On the Menu: Expect plenty of French-inspired dishes such as duck rilette on toast, steak frites, and the signature roast chicken. Bâtard also offers a three- or four-course set lunch that comes with a starter, main and dessert for $380 or $480 respectively; the four-course set includes both a hot and cold starter.

Meet the Chef: Chef Peter Teo, formerly of the two-Michelin-starred Les Amis, heads up the kitchen with the rest of the Bistro du Vin culinary team behind him.

Great For: Wine lovers.

FYI: You can drink all of Bâtard’s wines at retail prices while dining in.
