Upscale Mediterranean Dining Concept: Opened just last month, Basin is a recent addition to the dining hub Foco in Cochrane Street, Central. The culinary team led by industry veteran Eric Kirakozov and Antoni Bernabeu values the sharing tradition in the Mediterranean region and recreates the cozy atmosphere to serve families in Hong Kong.

Look & Feel: Making the most of the city view in Foco, the family-style restaurant panels itself with floor-to-ceiling windows, which also contributes to a bright dining area lit by natural sunlight during the day. Basin also collaborates with House of Butler to create a clean, minimalist interior, decorated with local artist Robert Lam’s works, where guests get a contemporary dining experience.

On The Menu: Combining the dining cultures of France, Spain and Italy, Basin aspires to serve its guests healthy sharing plates made with seasonal ingredients in a relaxed atmosphere. And there is everything for everyone in the restaurant’s a la carte menu. Besides the chef’s favorite zucchini flower with goat cheese, walnuts, truffles and acacia honey, diners with a plant-based diet are surely going to enjoy the house’s Mar Azul Tomato Salad with figs, shallot vinaigrette and salmorejo; while the Black Angus Tagliata with red mojo, Ancienne mustard and veal jus satisfy your meat-loving friends’ cravings.
Basin will also impress guests with its live cooking session thanks to the spacious open kitchen. Inside the open kitchen you will find the innovative Josper charcoal oven, which lends a unique layer of flavor to your Rubia Gallega prime rib and fresh market fish.
Great For: Gatherings, family dinner.
FYI: Basin only started welcoming guests during lunch hour this month, secure your table with a reservation if you are visiting during the day!
